WITCHCRAFT MUTATION

As a part of the Rayman Mutation Mod, Witchcraft is a custom mutation created by Rayman himself. It is a total conversion mod that send an immediate horde of witches after you that increases in number over time.
From what I've found it is best to play this in the middle of whatever campaign you choose to play; This is because (everyone should know this!) The auto shotguns are the best weapons against witches in any case! The only thing that sucks is, you can only get auto shotguns in the middle chapters of campaigns. (Unless there's a crazy command I don't know about??

(some one tell me!!)

Regardless, this mod is fucking scary as hell. As someone who plays the Nightmare modpack a lot, and frequents many Horror-based media and discussions, I can say Witchcraft is one of the freakiest mods out there.
I'd highly recommend trying it out on the "Shanty Town" chapter on Swamp Fever. If you can get passed the water and darkness, it is the best and most immersive environment to play this in. Everyone knows witches live in swamps, and this chapter is perfect for that nightmarish immersion.
More on the horror aspect, it's very good at scarying the hell out of you. Evidence by the constant and ever-present screeching and howling of the monsters in the distance, mixed with Yoru's Nightmare Modpack, and the terror of what sprints so close behind you.

NIGHTMARE MODPACK

In my opinion, this experience is deeply enhanced by combining the mod's adrenaline-horror setup with the horror of Yoru's Nightmare modpack. Although the modpack is scary on its own, a few things to note:

*The witches obviously run faster than you so that gun weight mod and/or any other slow movement mod is gonna need to be disabled.

*Install the shovable witches addon, this will be super beneficial to your runs- just remember, when shoving witches, they stumble like a football; meaning they stumble in the opposite direction of how you shove them!

*In panic events, like the Hospital chapter of No Mercy, when you call the elevator, run like hell away, because the last thing you'd want is to be cornered there. It's best to simply run throughout the building until the elevator arrives; basically, do anything you can to just KEEP MOVING.

This is the OG Nightmare pack;

Aesthetically, The Nightmare Modpack goes perfectly with Witchcraft. To start, the witches are redesigned as skinwalkers of the TRS-style Zoey, making the normal beta witches 10x scraier; Also, the Cry Of Fear color correction makes for a more visually terrifying experience, and the realistic weapons scripts also add to the soundscape and immersion!

COMMENTARY

I think Witchcraft instilling the horror of being trapped, alone in a dark environment and being chased down by fucked monsters really makes it feel like you've been truly left for dead. It feels like you were once a part of a group, and were either left behind, or became the last surviving member of the many.

LOADOUT

The best loadout for this mutation is what you see above;

*Auto Shotgun OR the SPAS-12
*Desert-Eagle secondary
*Any form of health (i.e Medkit, Pills, or Adrenaline)

Everybody knows how crowning the witch works, right? Approach fast, aim for the head, and shoot like hell!
Well, it's mostly the same premise, except they're chasing you from the jump. Now, it goes without saying, you're never going to be able to kill every single witch, but the Auto Shotgun and/or SPAS do the best at overall damage so as long as you are shooting and shoving, you're good!
As for the deagle, it's basically a hand-held shotgun, and it reloads faster. Only problem with it, is it's not super accurate, so it's best to use it at close range, or in emergencies.

Not saying melee weapons are a bad choice, but witches work different when it comes to melee attacks. When they stumble, sometimes they stumble directly in your way and can accidentally cause you damage. Also, it should be common sense, but keeping good distance from the witches is SOOO important. They can hit you from further away than you can hit them, so needing to get close enough to hit them with a sword is not as important as staying the fuck away from them LOL
